New life to an old house

To give new life to the battered spaces of this old house, located in the small town of Benimeli, working with the original load-bearing walls and inhabiting the patio with a small pond and an external vaulted staircase that links it with the terraces of the upper floor.
A continuous off-white polished concrete pavement extends through all the rooms like a fresh blanket, like a mineral floor that has always been there. Working as a solid but aethereal link which provides a powerful sense of unity throughout the spaces of the house. The existing structural wood was restored, new wooden windows with double glazing were place in the existing openings and in the new ones to allow all existing spaces to enjoy natural light and natural ventilation.
